A Year to Remember: From Your PTA Board

6/6/2025 4:29 pm

Aimee Acas-Yip & Alana Kleinerman, Co-Presidents

As we close out this incredible school year, we would like to take a moment to express our deepest appreciation and gratitude. A HUGE shout out goes out to every single member on our PTA Board—they have poured their time, energy, and heart into creating unforgettable experiences for our children and our Franklin Family Community. We are so proud of everything that has been accomplished this year!

Much thought and effort went into organizing our community building events such as the amazing Walk-A-Thon, Ice Cream Social, Science Expo, BINGO, Teacher Appreciation, Glow Party, Cookie Dough Fundraiser, Samaritan House Drives, Kidchella and more. The super fun enrichment assemblies, such as Magic Circus, Beetle Lady, Touch of Earth and field trips to Sanchez Adobe, State Capitol, Marine Science Institute, and Kohl Mansion to name a few. We even have a new happy Frankie logo that you’ve seen around campus on banners and stickers! There have been many moments of joy and connection to be celebrated—this year has been a true labor of love. None of it would have been possible without the dedication and teamwork of our PTA Board and the core group of family volunteers, our 5th Grade volunteers, and the Franklin Dad’s Club who’ve all shown up again and again, always ready to help!

To the incoming PTA President, Winne Wu, and PTA Board stepping in: We are so excited for what’s ahead for our Falcon Families, and we’re confident that you will continue to build on this year’s momentum. May your year be filled with creativity, collaboration, and community as you take the lead in the 2025-2026 school year!

To the Franklin Families, please continue supporting the PTA in making the experience for our children fulfilling, enriching and exciting!

A special thank you to Mrs. Lawrence and the entire school staff for your unwavering support of the PTA. Your encouragement and partnership have been essential and much appreciated!

Lastly, thank you, PTA Board, PTA Members and volunteers for your commitment and dedication. This has been a truly special year- it has been an honor to have served on the PTA Board with you all!

Reshma Iyer and Manasi Bhuskute, Enrichment Co-Chairs

We have been a part of the Franklin community for a few years but it’s our first year on the PTA, it was truly an enriching experience to be a part of this amazing PTA team!

A heartfelt thank you to the fundraising team and every family who contributed their time and supported our fundraising efforts—your involvement made these incredible programs possible. This year, our children explored a wide range of enriching experiences—from discovering the world of bugs and learning how to navigate conflict, to feeling the impact of classical music and beyond.

The enrichment team is committed to providing our students with a diverse array of immersive programs during these formative years, helping spark curiosity and build lifelong skills. None of this would be possible without the unwavering support of Principal Lawrence and our amazing teachers, who are so deeply dedicated to our children’s growth and learning. We are truly grateful for this incredible partnership.

Aimee Klarich & Kristine-Ann Hespelt, Fundraising Co-Chairs

We kicked off the school year with a fun-filled Walk-a-thon, and what a success it was! The smiles on the faces of our students, teachers, parents, and staff truly warmed our hearts. We are incredibly proud of the strong and joyful community we’ve built together at Franklin.

Thanks to your generosity and participation, we achieved a record-breaking fundraiser that helped support a fantastic school year full of memorable programs and activities. We’re also thrilled to have wrapped up the year on a high note with a successful Book Fair!

Thank you, Franklin Falcons, for making this school year unforgettable.

Jamie Lubeck, Treasurer

The PTA does so much for Franklin from small items such as new school supplies for students, scholastic news magazines, to the larger science fair and assemblies, PTA funds are a major part of each child’s enrichment at Franklin. For me personally, the highlight of my third on the PTA, has been the deepened sense of community and friendship it continues to bring. Each year, I’ve built stronger connections—with fellow parents, teachers, and staff—and it’s been so fulfilling to be part of a team that not only supports our school but helps create meaningful enrichment opportunities for the kids. The friendships and sense of belonging have truly been the most rewarding part. To know my family and kids have a strong community is truly priceless.

Jessica Lawler, Executive VP

What a full, wonderful year at Franklin! I was inspired seeing the heart, effort, and time that went into the Science Expo, and by the generosity of Franklin families in showering our teachers with love during staff appreciation week and the holiday luncheon. Thank you!

Augustine Li & Rosalind Eckstein, Outreach Co-Chairs

This year has been so fun planning events for our Franklin Community to enjoy! It’s been so rewarding seeing our families come together and volunteer to help make this a memorable year for our students. We hope all of our Falcons have enjoyed the many events including the Glow Party and the fun Family Bingo Night and of course Kidchella, which wouldn’t have been made possible without our amazing PTA President Aimee and her team of volunteers! We're grateful for the many hands that helped bring our community together!

Angel Chang, Volunteer VP

What a truly rewarding year it has been serving as VP of Volunteers for the PTA. It's been incredible to witness the power of our parent community coming together with such dedication and enthusiasm to create memorable events for our students. Our expo was particularly special this year, breaking records with around 87 volunteers stepping up to make it a tremendous success. I'm especially grateful to have worked alongside such talented, kind, and remarkable parents on the PTA this year. I wish the incoming PTA team tremendous success and joy as they continue this important work in the year ahead.

Wing Yeung Shih, Secretary & Communications VP

As a first-time PTA board member, I’ve had the privilege of seeing firsthand how the PTA supports and sustains our vibrant Franklin community.

This year, I pulled together our PTA newsletters to showcase the many fun and enriching activities designed for our Falcons and their families. I also had the opportunity to test out the thoughtfully crafted Science Expo lesson plans developed by fellow PTA members. One of the most memorable moments was serving as a bodyguard for Frankie the Falcon and protecting him from being swarmed by his many adoring fans!

Throughout the year, I’ve gained a deeper appreciation for the incredible dedication our board, volunteers, teachers, and staff bring to every event and initiative. It has been a pleasure to be part of a team that tirelessly puts kids first.

Ana Sousa, Parliamentarian

This was my first year with the PTA board and it was such a fun and rewarding year! One of my personal highlights was witnessing firsthand the students' curiosity during the Science Expo. Hearing their enthusiastic "uhhhs" and "ahhs" as they explored new concepts is priceless!

I've been genuinely amazed by the dedication of all board members and the unwavering support from parents, teachers, and staff. It’s truly wonderful to belong to a community where everyone works together to create meaningful and memorable experiences for our students.

Gemmy Tsai, VP Room Reps

One of the biggest highlights this year has been our incredible Room Rep community. With over 30 dedicated volunteers, they played a vital role in organizing classroom events, keeping communication flowing smoothly, and creating thoughtful, creative gifts for our teachers. Their enthusiastic involvement and contributions have truly helped make Franklin a vibrant and well-connected school community!

Kathy Tsai, VP Community Support

The Franklin community grows stronger each year and I am grateful to the PTA Board and volunteers for their hard work and dedication. From providing snacks for teachers and staff in recognition of their hard work during holidays and conference weeks, to showing up to lend a helping hand during Franklin events, you all really showed up! We are stronger when we come together!

Winnie Wu, Makerspace Co-Chair, Technology Co-Chair

What an incredible first year it’s been at Franklin—and my very first year on the Franklin PTA board! I was truly amazed watching our Makerspace and Science Expo come to life. From the imaginative student creations to the beaming smiles lighting up the room, these events were pure magic! But the biggest highlight? Franklin PTA made us feel at home. Thank you for a year full of creativity, community, and heart!

Abby Lin Makerspace Co-Chair

I’m honored to have joined the PTA this year, where I’ve met many like-minded moms working together to create a joyful childhood for our children.

The highlights of my year were the Makerspace and the Science Expo. Being part of the PTA taught me that no contribution is ever too small—every bit of help matters. All the parents are incredibly kind and attentive to details I had never noticed before. Seeing the kids and teachers enjoy these activities makes all the effort feel truly worthwhile. I’m grateful to this team for everything they’ve done for our children—helping them grow up in a loving, safe, and enriching environment.

Jannie Lau & Neelima Vala, Membership Team

I wanted to give a big THANKS to the PTA Team this year! This is the best group I've ever worked with! Everyone did their part and also helped out as well with EVERYTHING! This was a friendly group of people who I got along with lots of great conversations and lots of laughter! Our PTA President Aimee ran a tight ship but it was super efficient. It was a great way to end my Franklin years here! Thank you to ALL!!! Good luck to the new PTA Team!
