Our Franklin teachers and staff bring so much care, patience, and encouragement to our children each day. This Thanksgiving, let’s show them how much they mean to our school community with a table of treats, snacks, and drinks to enjoy!

Families are invited to donate or lend a hand on Friday, November 20, 2026. A small contribution is warmly appreciated. To keep leftovers to a minimum, please bring modest quantities, preferably individually packaged, sealed treats that are easy to store or take home.

Please drop off snacks and drinks at the school office by 9am.

Franklin students caught the bug for learning this week with Beetlelady’s Pop-Up Bug Museum! From live bug encounters to interactive activities, this PTA-sponsored enrichment activity gave students a chance to explore the fascinating world of insects and other arthropods, inspiring curiosity and respect for these tiny creatures that share our planet. Thank you to our Franklin families for the generous donations that make these memorable experiences for our students possible!

Help Franklin support our neighbors this holiday season! We’re partnering with Samaritan House’s Project Wee Care to collect breakfast foods for individuals and families in our community.

Donation barrels will arrive at school on Tuesday, December 1, with pickup scheduled for Tuesday, December 15. Please see the accompanying flyer for suggested breakfast items by grade, and bring your donations to the collection barrels during the drive.

Lunch Duty EVERYDAY: We are  in urgent need of extra hands during lunch duty  to help supervise and support our students on the playground and in the lunch area, especially the TK kids.

Library volunteer: Our library volunteer opportunities take place on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Whether you can commit to a regular slot or just have a few minutes to spare, here is how you can help:

• Library Class Time Slots (Mon, Wed, Fri): Help during scheduled class library visits or open sessions. Check out our sign-up sheet to find a time that fits your schedule!
• Flexible Afternoon Drop-Ins: Can't commit to a full time slot? No problem! You are welcome to drop in anytime the library is open on Mondays, Wednesdays, or Fridays—even for just 15 minutes before dismissal—to help organize and shelve books. Every bit of help makes a big difference!

It’s a wonderful opportunity to meet and network with other families across the district, share experiences and resources, and offer support to one another along our journeys. Whether you’re new to special education or have been navigating the journey for years, your voice and connection matter. We hope you’ll join us!

Burlingame voters will consider Measure R, a proposed $100 million school facilities bond, on the November 3 ballot. The measure would fund repairs and upgrades to aging school facilities, including roofs, plumbing, electrical systems, classrooms, and STEM spaces. Our own Franklin campus is among Burlingame’s older and more outdated school facilities and is in need of significant upgrades.

We encourage all Burlingame voters to learn more about Measure R and make an informed decision this November.

This past Tuesday, our VPs of Room Reps, Rosalind and Augustine, held their annual Room Rep Kickoff Meeting!🎉

Almost all of our classroom reps were able to attend and learn more about their roles for the school year. It was a fun and informative meeting filled with great questions, conversation, and excitement for the year ahead!

Room Reps will be reaching out to their class families soon to introduce themselves. Throughout the year, they’ll serve as an important point of contact for their classrooms, helping share information and coordinate class parties, teacher gifts, school events, volunteer opportunities, and more.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent Ice Cream and Social! We had a fantastic turnout with over 275 attendees coming together for an evening of fun and community connection.

This event wouldn't have been possible without amazing teamwork: a special shout-out to the Dad’s Club for helping us bring and serve the delicious pizza, and to our wonderful teachers who rolled up their sleeves to scoop ice cream for everyone! Thank you to our incredible school community for making this such a memorable night. We can't wait for the next one!

Last Friday, Franklin had its first enrichment assembly of the 2026-2027 school year, featuring Cousin Danny! Through an exciting blend of high-energy dance, movement, and meaningful life lessons, Cousin Danny encouraged our students to boost their mental health, stay motivated, build confidence, and work toward academic success. It was wonderful to see our students engaged, moving, and learning together in such a positive and memorable way. Programs like this are made possible through the generous donations and support of Franklin families. Thank you for helping the PTA bring enriching experiences to our students throughout the school year!
